We all knew a contender would take a chance on free agent Andrew Bynum but none of us expected the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers are a team with All Star center, Roy Hibbert, and two solid big men in Luis Scola and David West. Today, the Indiana Pacers announced they have signed free agent center Andrew Bynum to a contract for the remainder of the season.
He was signed this season as a free agent by Cleveland, played 24 games (8.4 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game) and was traded to Chicago, which released him. When asked about the Bynum signing Pacers President of Basketball Operations, Larry Bird said, “We are obviously happy to have him join our team. He gives us added size, he is a skilled big man and he has championship experience. With the minutes he gets, he should be a valuable addition.”
